2 hurt, 1 killed in off-road vehicle accident

On Behalf of | Nov 24, 2021 | Personal Injury

Three teenagers in Florida were recently involved in a crash between an off-road vehicle and a pickup truck. All three teens suffered injuries in the accident. Sadly, one of them passed away. According to state laws, the surviving victims, as well as the family members of the deceased, may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses through legal means.

What happened?

The full details of the collision have not been released to the public. However, it has been reported that the teenagers were riding an unspecified off-road vehicle at a mud bogging event at Plant Bamboo park at the end of October when their vehicle collided with a truck. An 18-year-old girl and two 17-year-old boys were injured. At least one of the boys was transported to an area hospital for treatment, where he died the following day. The current conditions of the other two victims are unknown.

The investigation

Right now, this incident is being investigated as a traffic homicide. No information about the driver of the truck has been released. It is unclear if any charges are pending in this case.

Seeking compensation

As previously stated, Florida laws may allow the surviving victims and the loved ones of the victim who failed to survive the accident to seek compensation for their losses. Depending on the full details of the accident, legal claims may be filed against the driver of the truck, the park, the driver of the off-road vehicle or the vehicle’s owner. In the end, it all depends on who is believed responsible for the collision. Legal counsel can help the victims seek maximum relief by negotiating with insurance providers or, if necessary, litigating the matter in civil court.
