Florida collision results in a ball of fire

| Apr 9, 2021 | Car Accidents

In the wee hours of a recent Monday morning, a tragedy occurred on a Florida roadway. At approximately 3:30 a.m., a box truck and another vehicle collided. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to erupt in flames.

I-95 was shut down for hours following the crash

It took hours to clear the road after the two vehicles crashed, which resulted in one of the drivers becoming entrapped inside his vehicle. Sadly, as the fire raged, no one was able to get to the man in time, and he burned to death. The box truck driver did not suffer any injuries in the collision.

Investigators still have questions

A preliminary investigation did not reveal the exact cause of the crash. In similar cases, it has often taken weeks for crash investigators to draw their final conclusions. In fact, if needed, there are specialized re-enactment teams who can re-create a crash in order to try to determine what or who may have caused it. It is not uncommon for driver negligence to be a causal factor in collisions that have resulted in fatality.

Family members may seek justice on behalf of a deceased loved one

When a Florida family receives a phone call informing them that their loved one has suffered fatal injuries in a motor vehicle collision, their grief may be intensified if they also learn that another driver’s negligence was a direct cause of the collision. An immediate family member may seek justice on behalf of a decedent against the driver deemed responsible for his or her loved one’s death. A human life is irreplaceable; however, many grieving families have, at least, been able to offset funeral costs and other expenses associated with their loved ones’ deaths when the court rules in their favor in a wrongful death claim.
