Motorcyclist killed, passenger injured in recent wreck

| Apr 14, 2020 | Motorcycle Accidents, Personal Injury

Police in Florida are investigating a crash that left one person dead and another injured. The wreck occurred the night of Friday, April 10, in West Palm Beach. If driver negligence is believed to have contributed to this event, the surviving victim and the family members of the deceased may be entitled to seek compensation for their losses through legal means.

According to reports, a 36-year-old male was operating his motorcycle northbound on Military Trail at approximately 10:40 p.m., when he struck a sedan that turned in front of him. He, along with his passenger — a 35-year-old female — was thrown from the bike. Sadly, he died at the scene. The passenger was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The driver believed responsible for this collision was making a left-hand turn from Community Drive to northbound Military Trail when the motorcycle struck the passenger side of her car. It was not reported if she was injured in the wreck. Law enforcement authorities have not indicated if any criminal charges are pending in this case.

Losing a loved one or suffering significant injuries in a wreck like this can be challenging to overcome. The physical, financial and emotional losses incurred may be too much to bear alone. Thankfully, according to Florida laws, certain damages may be compensable. With the assistance of legal counsel, the surviving victim and the family members of the deceased may be able to work out fair settlement offers with insurance. If negotiating fails to produce desirable results, taking their cases to court may be necessary to seek maximum relief.
